SKF MicroVibe - Vibration Analyzer in a PDA

(Close Out Special Pricing on Original MicroVibe)

New MicroVibe P is now available!

Vibration Analyzer in a PDA! Originally $2,894.00 With Visor PDA and Software
No Longer Available

Low-cost, compact and lightweight, the MicroVibe is the first vibration test and measurement instrument made to be used with a PDA.  Packed full of advanced features, including user-selectable measurement units (English or metric), the instrument offers Vibration, Time-waveform, and FFT Spectrum Plots.  It also provides technicians with judgment criteria based on ISO standards, enabling an immediate assessment of a machine's condition.

MicroVibe is a card-type vibration meter made to fit the Springboard™ expansion slot of a Handspring™ Visor PDA.  MicroVibe is versatile, accepting a variety of sensors, including accelerometers and electro-dynamic velocity pickups, and thereby allowing the collection of the kind of data required in a specific operation.  Also, since the MicroVibe uses a commercial, off-the-shelf PDA, it represents a significant value to the user in terms of cost when compared to other available systems, and the user has the use of a fully functional PDA for other applications.  For example, a user may “hot sync” the Handspring to a desktop computer, then, using available Data Extract Software, save collected vibration data to Microsoft® Excel for documenting and review.

Simultaneous measurement

The user may collect up to 5 of the most useful measurements for vibration analysis: acceleration, velocity, displacement, HFD and enveloped acceleration - simultaneously. Multi-point Automation™ saves time and enhances your decision making to make the best possible judgment.

FFT Function

MicroVibe offers up to 1600-line high resolution FFT with selectable Fmax and a 90 db dynamic range. Cursor position readout with display zoom optimizes your analysis power. The 5 highest vibration peaks are tabulated from a spectrum, making it easy to quickly identify signals indicative of a specific machine problem.

Waveform Display

MicroVibe allows you to display, save, and recall the dynamic waveform. The  Trigger function for the waveform measurement will start the measurement automatically over a user defined preset vibration level.

Vibration Evaluation

MicroVibe also provides technicians with judgment criteria based on ISO standards, enabling an immediate assessment of a machine's condition. Simply collect the data and the unit will compare readings to pre-programmed vibration severity criteria. Even a novice will be able to determine an abnormal condition and take appropriate action.

Data save

Utilize your PDA to record and save vibration level, waveform, FFT and notes from observations. The unit can store up to 1,000 overall vibration readings, 200 FFT spectrums and 2 megabytes of time waveform data for later recall.

Utility Application

"Available memory display", "Saved data list display & search", "Charge remaining display" and unique "Vibration mini dictionary" is provided in the Utility of the MicroVibe.

Use with CPU

Saved data can be transferred to personal computer. Set the Visor into its cradle and “hot sync” the Handspring to a desktop computer, then, using available Data Extract Software, save collected vibration data to Microsoft® Excel for documenting and review.

Optional Earphones

Plug in the optional earphone set and listen to the vibration to the operation of your machine. When abnormal noise is detected, use the vibration analysis capabilities to zero in on the problem.
